Food Market
Terms of service
The rules for ordering on Food Market, in plain language.
Orders and prices
When you place an order, you buy food from the kitchen you chose. Food Market takes your order, arranges delivery and handles payment.
Prices, delivery fees and any service fees are shown before you confirm. The total at checkout is what you pay.
Cancellations and refunds
- Before the kitchen accepts: Cancel for free until the kitchen accepts your order.
- After the kitchen accepts: After the kitchen accepts, cancelling costs 50% of your order total, until a rider picks it up. The kitchen may already be cooking, so this covers the food and the kitchen’s time. The rest is refunded to you.
- After pickup: Once a rider has picked up your order it can’t be cancelled; contact support if something goes wrong.
For example, on a ₦10,000 order cancelled after the kitchen accepts, the fee is ₦5,000 and you are refunded ₦5,000.
You’ll always see the exact fee and refund, and confirm them, before a cancellation goes through. If a kitchen or Food Market cancels your order, or the kitchen can’t complete it, you are refunded in full. If we suggest moving your order to another kitchen, nothing changes unless you accept.
Refunds go back to the way you paid. For pay-on-delivery orders, nothing is collected for a cancelled order.
Delivery
Arrival times are estimates. Your rider will ask for the 4-digit delivery code shown on your order page. Only share it once you have your food.
Please make sure your address, landmark and phone number are correct so your rider can find you.
Problems with an order
If something is missing, wrong or damaged, contact support from your order page as soon as possible. We’ll look into it with the kitchen and rider and may offer a refund or credit.
Your account
Keep your sign-in details private. You are responsible for orders placed from your account. We may suspend accounts that are used for fraud or abuse.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page applies to orders placed while it is shown.
